Prana and Ponies: Patagonia
with Jen Hicks
Friday March 9 – Thursday March 15, 2018
First 10 participants to register by October 1, 2017 receive a $200 discount!
In this latest incarnation of our wildly popular Prana and Ponies retreat series, we venture to pristine Patagonia to explore the cleavage of the Andes mountains by horseback. A true destination, Argentina enjoys an enduring and adoring cultural relationship to the horse. During this seven day lakeside retreat, experience life on the estância with free-roaming horses, daily yoga practice, and meditation lead by Jen Hicks, one of Colorado’s most respected and beloved yoga teachers.
Mount up for daily rides in small supervised groups of riders atop well-cared for horses. In addition to riding, we’ve planned kayaking on crystal clear Lake Gutiérrez and hiking up D’Agostini peak. Enjoy as many or as few activities as you like! This is a rare opportunity to relax, unwind, unplug, breathe deeply, and connect with nature, uninterrupted.
We have partnered with the highly-rated Estancia Peuma Hue, an Eco-lodge located on protected lands within the Nahuel Huapi National Park in an area known as ‘the lake district’ and the gateway to Patagonia. Settle into the luxurious, unpretentious, and uniquely appointed cabins. Estancia Peuma Hue prides itself on its chef-prepared farm-to-table cuisine with much of the produce plucked fresh from the on-site organic garden and greenhouse. Curious about tasting Argentina’s phenomenal wines? Peuma Hue offers local wines and micro brews expertly paired with each day’s thoughtful offerings.

Estancia Peuma Hue
Estancia Peuma Hue is an enchanting hotel and Eco-lodge nestled within the grounds of the first and largest national park in Argentina, Nahuel Huapi National Park, in the Northern Patagonian Lake District.
The sweet mountain village of Bariloche is located on the southern shores of Nahuel Huapi Lake within the Nahuel Huapi National Park set against the splendor of the Andes. Charming with alpine-style architecture, fine dining, and quaint streets lined with irresistible chocolate shops, Bariloche has long standing and respected reputation as the most desirable and unmissable gateway to Patagonia’s natural riches.
Climate and Weather
Temperatures can vary greatly in Patagonia in March swinging between the 70’s on warm days and the 40’s on cooler days and evenings. The elevation of Bariloche is just under 3,000 ft. March is the beginning of Autumn in Argentina as the seasons are opposite in the Southern hemisphere. Plan on layers, jackets, boots, and pants. Bring clothes that allow you to explore this unspoiled wilderness comfortably.
Book your flight from the United States on March 8th to arrive in Bariloche, Argentina (BRC) on March 9th. Most flights connect through Buenos Aires (EZE). Please note that there are two separate airports in Buenos Aires, one domestic (AEP), one international (EZE). Plan to transfer to the domestic airport (AEP) for the second flight from Buenos Aires to Bariloche.
Transportation is included from the airport in Bariloche to Estancia Peuma Hue where we will enjoy the next 6 nights. We conclude our stay at the Estancia Peuma Hue on March 15th. Transportation back to the airport in Bariloche is included. Depart Argentina on the 15th and travel overnight to return to the United States March 16th.
U.S. citizens require a valid passport to enter Argentina.
