Experience peace, tranquility and the spiritual healing of Reiki on this incredible  retreat situated in the stunning backdrop of the holiest mountains of Bali.

Devote 6 blissful days for relaxation, learning Reiki, practicing yoga and exploring the Island of the Gods.  Here in the cultural heart of Bali’s most sacred lands, prepare to open your heart each morning to unsurpassed beauty and incredible healing energy.

Join your facilitators Carrie Varela and Dr. Jonathan Bloch in Sideman at the base of Mount Agung, Bali’s highest and most sacred volcano. Spend your nights at an off the beaten track 5-star paradise resort renowned for authentic Balinese culture and Hindu spirituality.  Guests will find themselves in over-the-top traditionally decorated rooms with spacious outdoor bathrooms and soaking tubs set amongst magnificent gardens, lotus ponds, vegetable gardens, and natural wildlife. The resort is built on terraced cliffs with sweeping vistas overlooking rice fields, Mt. Agung, and the valley below.  Witness the incredible culture of Bali with an excursion to one of Bali’s iconic temples (the exact temple will be decided by group preference and weather conditions) and take any of your free time to explore more temples, stunning Balinese gardens, hikes or simply take a swim in the pool and wander down the road for a closer view of the rice-farmers and temples.

In the Reiki training, you will learn to receive and send Reiki energy as a means of self-treatment, treatment for others, clearing of space and long-distance healing.  We will spend a few hours each day dedicated to lecture, discussion and experience of Reiki.  Practice time includes giving and receiving a Reiki treatment using Reiki hand positions, practice using Reiki II symbols, distance healing and practice using several Japanese Reiki techniques. You will become a certified Reiki Level 2 practitioner by the end of the retreat!

Spiritual rejuvenation, healing and bliss are yours to enjoy on this Reiki training and yoga retreat.  As you heal yourself, you also heal the world around you.

Bali

The island of Bali is a tropical paradise near Java, Indonesia. Religiously dating back to Hinduism, it’s culture is unique to itself. Most everyone falls instantly in love with Bali for many reasons, from art to yoga, sweeping scenery to surf, and the kindest essences of people and natural sensations. It is the land of thousands of gods and temples, all stemming from the highest Brahma where one great spirit is the rule.

Sideman (pronounced si de man) is one of those hidden-away Bali retreats that really is, well, just enchanting. Despite the overdevelopment on the island this unique area in east Bali still has the feeling as if not much has changed. The small villages are surrounded by rice fields and agricultural land while people still tend to their fields; prepare ceremonies at the temples and head to the rivers for a bath towards the end of the day. All under the watchful eye of the impressive and sacred Mount Agung. More and more travelers are discovering this tranquil place, particularly nature lovers.

Traditionally Sidemen is renowned for its songket and endek (ikat of the weft) weaving. Songket is an intricate and time-consuming process, produced on backstrap looms. It can take several months to weave a sarong.
